Classic Rhody festivals take center stage this weekend – and transform the Creative Capital into a stage! Don’t sleep on the chance to experience Providence’s signature fest, a beloved seafood celebration, and arts programming in Pawtucket, along with gatherings for bird and animal enthusiasts, timeless fun for quilters and chamber music lovers, and more.

Returning to its OG downtown venue, PVDFest is the Creative Capital’s signature arts festival. From spectacles that defy gravity to lively concerts and cultural programming, plus art markets and world-class cuisine, it’s an experience unlike any other. September 6-7, Providence

Naturally dyed fabrics inspired by the colors of Canonchet Farm, talks revealing the stories behind 19th century textile arts, and beautiful works of art are all part of the 38th Annual Folk Art Quilt Show at South County Museum. September 6-8, 10am-4pm, Narragansett

As part of the Pawtucket Arts Festival, the Slater Park Fall Festival, includes an open-air market of over a hundred artisans and makers, food and entertainment for the whole family, and a culminating outdoor concert by the RI Philharmonic Orchestra. September 7-8, Pawtucket

Public Shop & Gallery has a lot to celebrate – their Kick Off Party marks both five years in business and moving to their new location. Enjoy delicious food, dance to DJ music, and sip champagne to raise funds for the move. Tickets online, Providence

The BankNewport Community Concerts Series presents the Fulton Chamber Players, a world-class ensemble performing on Newport Craft’s spacious lawn. The free concert is backdropped by views of the bridge. 2:30pm, Newport
